Abstract

Pavement is a major component in the field of transportation. Pavement conditions affect the comfort, safety and safety of road users. However, the condition of the pavement is getting worse and worse due to road damage. This study aims to determine the condition of road damage and how to handle it. Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Bina Marga are methods and systems for assessing road pavement conditions based on the type and level of damage that occurs and can be used as a reference in maintenance efforts. The Caringin - Cidahu road section is one of the roads in Sukabumi Regency. Along the 2.5 km of this road section is used for research locations starting from STA 2+500 to STA 5+000 which is the end point of this research. The level of damage that occurs according to the PCI method is Excellent 20%, Very Good 20%, Good 4%, Fair 12%, Poor 12%, Very Poor ) 28%, and Failed (Failed) 4%. The resulting average PCI value is 53.52 which is at a moderate level (Fair). While the level of damage according to the Highways method is 44% increase, 16% periodic maintenance, 40% routine maintenance. The average value of the resulting Priority Order is 5.56 (Regular Maintenance). As for the handling that needs to be done in the maintenance of this road section based on the results of the PCI and Bina Marga methods, it is necessary to repave, seal and fill cracks, patch holes, and leveling several segments as well as repair and improvement (reconstruction) on segments with severe damage.
