Abstract
Overhaul is a repair activity that improves engine performance, although not up to the performance of a new engine, in the overhaul process there is a tool that is used as an engine seat when the engine is outside the vehicle. This engine stand facilitates accessibility to carry out various repair work. There are various types of engine stands, ranging from simple to sophisticated, respectively. While they can fit a lot of engines, many of them do not have enough maximum strength to support heavy engines of up to 180kg. In addition, many engine stands have a less flexible design due to their permanent nature, which makes them less adaptive to different engine sizes and shapes. The purpose of this research is to design a practical engine stand that can withstand a maximum engine load of 180 kg. This engine stand has also been calculated using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) by getting the appropriate safety factor and displacement value so that it can withstand loads up to a maximum load of 180 kg. This research has also been tested with several engines installed on the engine stand and can work properly.
