Abstract

Cloud computing services have become a popular solution for organizations to meet their computing needs. However, some organizations feel uncomfortable using public cloud services that are accessible to others. As an alternative, the development of private cloud services that can be accessed solely by the organization becomes appealing to optimize computing resource utilization. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provides virtual infrastructure that can be configured and managed by users, helping to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure management in schools. This research aims to implement a private cloud service based on IaaS using the OpenStack platform at SMA Negeri 1 Warungkiara. The Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) is employed as the development method, involving stages such as OpenStack installation and configuration, creation of Internal and external networks, security group configuration, and instance creation. Testing is conducted by evaluating the performance of the OpenStack Swift Cloud Storage through file upload and download processes using different accounts. The results show that the system operates successfully, enabling users to access and manage files efficiently and securely. This research provides in-depth understanding of cloud technology adoption in the educational environment and benefits SMA Negeri 1 Warungkiara by optimizing the utilization of ICT in teaching and data management processes. The implementation of a private cloud system based on OpenStack allows SMA Negeri 1 Warungkiara to improve data management efficiency and security, as well as achieve flexibility in file access and management.
