Abstract

Garbage is leftover material from both animals, humans and plants that is no longer used and is released into nature in the form of solid, liquid or gas. The people of Bantar Muncang Village, Rt 001/002, Parakansalak Sub-District, still often litter, not many even dispose of waste according to the type of waste. Therefore we need IoT-based organic and non-organic trash cans and mobile applications to solve the waste problem in the village, IoT-based organic and non-organic bins and mobile applications use smart sensors installed in each trash can. This sensor can detect and distinguish between organic and non-organic waste, thus enabling users to dispose of waste properly. Data from these sensors is sent through the IoT network to the connected mobile app, providing real-time information about the status and capacity of the bin. This makes it easier for users to find out whether the trash can is full or can still be used. Users can also get information about what type of waste should be disposed of in a particular trash can through the guide provided in the application. These bins not only provide benefits to users, but also help in overall waste management. The test results from 10 there were 3 failed organic waste tests, the sensor did not detect the waste because the organic waste still contained chemicals in the waste. The results of the waste volume test proved that the waste increased by 10% when the waste was filled in the trash. The design of organic and non-organic waste bins is proven to be able to help create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment.
