Abstract

This research aims to develop a Geographic Information System (GIS) for mapping the locations of polling stations (TPS) in the Parungkuda District for elections. The objective is to enhance the accessibility of TPS location information and improve the efficiency and transparency of the election process. The research adopts the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology to ensure a collaborative and iterative development process. The background of this study highlights the challenges faced by the community in accessing TPS location information, which hinders active participation in the election process. The limited availability of accurate and up-to-date information about TPS locations in the Parungkuda District necessitates an efficient and transparent solution. The research methodology includes data collection, literature review, system design, application development using the XP methodology, testing, and evaluation. Data was collected through surveys and interviews to gain insights into the level of accessibility and challenges related to TPS location information. The literature review provides a foundation for understanding GIS, mapping techniques, XP methodology, and relevant approaches. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the GIS application has been successful through the alpha testing phase. This testing involved a number of potential users to assess the functionality and responsiveness of the application. The results of the alpha testing show that the application has significantly improved the accessibility of TPS location information, with an accuracy rate of 85%. Additionally, 90% of users reported a positive experience using the application and found it easier to locate TPS information.
