Abstract

Tomatoes are a high-value crop with abundant nutritional content, but Indonesia still imports most of the tomatoes consumed domestically due to a lack of a supportive irrigation system. Non-circulation drip irrigation systems can be an efficient solution in reducing excessive water use by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology and big data analysis.
The Internet of Things enables farmers to accurately monitor and control irrigation systems. IoT technology can assist in the maintenance of tomatoes remotely via the Internet. This study uses the Big Data concept to manage and analyze data generated by embedded sensors. Sensor data is stored in a database and can then be accessed online. By using the website as a bridge to the system, farmers can monitor sensor values in real-time and make automatic nutrient and water adjustments to plants.
Through the application of IoT technology and big data analysis, the use of water in non-circulating drip irrigation on hydroponic tomato plants can be more regulated. This research can improve water use efficiency, reduce waste, and achieve more sustainable agriculture. In addition, this research also contributes to maintaining the increasingly limited availability of water and maintaining a healthy environment.
