Abstract

The security level of data in Indonesia is still very low considering the cases of cybercrime that occurred last year, such as bjorka, Indihome customer data, PLN customer data and several cases of cybercrime in Indonesia. Citing data from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency in Indonesia, it shows an increase in anomaly traffic from 800 million in 2020 to 1.6 billion in 2021. This has become a source of problems for all people due to technological developments, all the data that we ownership is stuck online, for example, the files that we have are often scanned online, whether to compress, convert or something like that, we don't even know whether the data we have will not be misused or not. Compression is a data compression technique so that a file with a smaller size is obtained. The compression method is grouped into 2 large groups, namely the lossless method and the Lossy Compression method. Huffman's algorithm is a lossless compression algorithm, namely a compression technique that does not change the original data. This study uses the Huffman Algorithm which will be combined with using the python and ghostscript modules. The results of this study are pdf files whose text contents can be compressed up to 50% of their original size with good quality, pdf files whose image contents can be compressed up to 96% of their original size and still get good quality, dominant text and image files text is compressed to 54% of its original size and still gets good quality, and image- dominant text and image files can be compressed to 86% of its original size and get good quality.
