Abstract

This study aims to increase the activeness of learning using Multiply Card Teaching Media on multiplication and division of fractions for fifth grade students at SD Negeri Gunung Jaya. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR), the subjects of this research are all students of class V B at SD Negeri Gunung Jaya, totaling 36 students. The object in this study is the implementation of the learning process which is focused on student learning activeness. The data collection technique used in this research is observation and a questionnaire that has been tested for validity by experts. Observations were used to obtain data on student learning activeness using Multiply Card learning media and questionnaires were used to support observational data. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The results of this study indicate an increase in student learning activeness in learning mathematics using Multiply Card media in class V B SD Negeri Gunung Jaya. The increase that occurred was; (1) the average activity of the first cycle of the first meeting was 55.27%; (2) the average activity of Cycle I in the second meeting increased to 62.36%; (3) the average learning activity of Cycle II in the first meeting was 65.55%; (4) the average learning activity of Cycle II students in the second meeting increased to 78.61%. This increase was also supported by questionnaire data which showed a student active response of 91%
