Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model on students' interest in learning science at SDN Pajagan. The approach in this research is a quantitative approach. This type of research is experimental research. This study uses a quasi-experimental research design. The subjects of this study were grade 5 students at SDN Pajagan and grade 5 students at SDN Benda. The population of this study were all 5th grade students at SD Gugus 5 Cicurug, consisting of 8 schools and 449 students in the 2022/2023 school year. The samples taken were 5th grade students at SDN Pajagan as an experimental class of 39 students and 5th grade students at SDN Benda as a control class of 44 students who were determined by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are: 1) Observation; 2) Interview; 3) Documentation; and 4) Scale in the form of a questionnaire. The research instrument used questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is validity test, normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. based on data analysis performed using the Mann Whitney test, the value of Asymp.sig(2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. That is, it can be said that there are differences in students' interest in learning science between the experimental class (Inquiry) and the control class (Conventional). Therefore, it can be concluded that "there is an effect of using the inquiry learning model on students' interest in learning science."
