Abstract

In this modern era throughout the world, tourism is an industry that has developed very rapidly and one of the developments is felt in the Indonesian tourism sector. Apart from this very rapid development in the advancement of information technology, almost all sectors of the world need and apply technology to make communication easier which can change business patterns in the tourism industry. There is an increasing need for information facilities for tourists, not just to introduce tourism diversity but to be used as a guide for tourists when traveling. According to some tourists, Palabuhanratu is only a beach tourist spot which is known to have strong waves and is dangerous for beach swimmers. Based on data from the Sukabumi Regency Tourism Office (2022), tourist visits to the Palabuhanratu beach area in 2021 have increased to 148,651 tourists from the previous year. This requires designing a digital Palabuhanratu tourist guide book that is more easily accessible via gadgets so that it can provide information to tourists when traveling and at the same time promote tourism in Palabuhanratu so that it becomes an alternative destination when experiencing overtourism problems during weekend holidays. This design method uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative as well as the use of the SWOT analysis method. Through this design, it is hoped that it will be able to provide effective communication in conveying information to tourists on their way to their destination.
