Abstract

This study aims to develop a website-based midwifery consultation service by utilizing the WordPress platform as a digital solution to improve the quality and efficiency of midwifery services. The background of this study is that many midwifery service practices are still manual, both in recording patient data and the consultation process, which has the potential to cause delays in services, data loss, and limited time and access for patients. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a waterfall model approach consisting of communication, planning, modeling, construction, and implementation stages. Data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews with midwives and patients, and literature studies from various relevant sources. The development results produce a website-based information system with features such as user registration, consultation schedule booking (booking), consultation services via live chat, consultation history, and a responsive user dashboard. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method and usability evaluation with a Likert scale, which showed that the system runs according to its function and provides a good user experience. This study concludes that the website-based midwifery consultation service is able to provide an alternative solution that is effective and flexible, and can expand access to midwifery services, especially in areas with geographical limitations.
