Abstract

Scheduling academic subjects is an important part of the effective educational process in schools. At SMA Negeri 1 Sukaraja, the scheduling process is stil done semi-manually using Microsoft Excel, which carries the risk of schedule conflicts and less than optimal resource utilization. The purpose of this research is to create and implement a web-based subject scheduling information system that uses genetic algorithms to optimize the scheduling process. The Waterfall model is used for system development. The genetic algorithm process uses the Python programming language. Genetic algorithms are used to find optimal solutions to complex scheduling problems such as classroom space utilization, teacher teaching hour allocation, and avoiding schedule conflicts. To ensure the system functions properly, testing is conducted using the blackbox testing method. Based on the test results from the Genetic Algorithm, it shows that the application is able to produce a lesson schedule that is in accordance with the constraints, no teacher teaches in two classes at once, each class has one subject per hour. The research results show that the system can automatically create schedules without any conflicts and improve time efficiency. This system allows teachers and students to easily access information through a web platform.
