Abstract

The phenomenon of student dropouts has become a significant challenge in many Islamic educational institutions, including Pondok Pesantren Al-Ma’tuq Markaz Al-Zamil. Over the past five years (2020–2025), the trend of students not completing their education has fluctuated, with the highest rate reaching 8.4% in the 2022–2023 academic year. This study aims to analyze the underlying factors contributing to student dropouts and to design a systematic solution using the Zachman Framework approach. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and official document analysis. The findings reveal two main categories of contributing factors: internal (academic difficulties, memorization pressure, low learning motivation) and external (family economic pressures, lack of parental support and understanding, and students’ desire to transfer to general education). As a solution, a blueprint for a Student Exit Management Information System was designed based on the Zachman Framework. This blueprint includes six perspectives (Planner, Owner, Designer, Builder, Subcontractor, and Functioning System) and six system dimensions (data, function, network, human resources, time, and motivation). The design is represented through flowcharts, use cases, activity diagrams, database structures, and interface mockups, and is expected to serve as a foundation for developing an integrated digital system for early detection and sustainable prevention of student dropouts in pesantren.
