Abstract
Before carrying out a construction project, the first thing that is done and worked on in the field is the foundation work (underground structure). The foundation must be planned efficiently and safely for various soil and environmental conditions. The purpose of foundation planning is to determine the type of foundation and the optimal dimensions of the foundation in terms of safety and cost. Based on the collected data sources, the data obtained consists of primary
and secondary data. Quantitative methods are research approaches that use numerical data to measure phenomena and analyse relationships between variables. Based on the analysis results, it was found that the foundation suitable
for the site conditions is a shallow foundation of the footing type. The selection is based on supporting criteria, including load, structural form, soil bearing capacity, and cost. Footing foundations are indeed designed to withstand loads that are not too large. Footing foundations can be easily adapted to the dimensions and form of the structure, allowing for more flexible design. Of the three foundation dimensions that have been designed, the selected foundation dimension Dimension 1. This dimension was chosen because of its good bearing capacity and ease of construction, which can speed up the construction time. Additionally, this dimension offers cost efficiency through the use of appropriate materials. With
dimensions Lft = 3.2 m, Wft = 1.2 m, and Hft = 0.4 m. The X-direction reinforcement for the top and bottom uses D13 - 100 mm, and the Z-direction reinforcement for the top and bottom uses D13 - 200 mm. According to PLAXIS 2D analysis, the dimensions and depth of the foundation affect the stress by -237.09 kN/m², and the maximum vertical load of 41.75 tonnes/m² causes a settlement of 0.357 m.
