Abstract
MSMEs are a pillar of the nation's economy, contributing significantly to both the economic and non-economic sectors in Indonesia. However, MSMEs still face numerous challenges in growing and developing. One of the most significant challenges relates to external funding sources. This study aims to explore how factors such as demographic characteristics, the loan itself, risk perception, and literacy influence MSME preferences in Sukabumi Regency when choosing funding sources between conventional bank loans and online loans (pinjol). This research was conducted using a quantitative approach through a survey distributed to 300 MSMEs in Sukabumi Regency. The data collected over approximately one and a half months were then analyzed using logistic regression analysis and SPSS software. The results indicate that five variables significantly influence MSME preferences in choosing funding sources: education, interest rate, loan type, legality, and financial literacy. With these findings, this study contributes to the development of literature related to MSME finance and provides practical benefits for MSMEs, financial institutions, and the government.
