Abstract

In the digital era, computer laboratories are crucial facilities in educational institutions. One important aspect is electrical installations that meet standards to ensure optimal performance. Evaluating electrical installations according to the General Electrical Installation Regulation (PUIL) is vital for safety. However, electrical installations that comply with standards and the availability of backup power to address power outages often do not align with operational needs. Therefore, evaluating installations according to PUIL and adding backup power are critical to supporting the performance of computer laboratories. This study includes a survey of the electrical installation conditions, evaluation of existing electrical systems, power needs analysis, and backup power planning. The results show that evaluating electrical installations and adding backup power are necessary to ensure a reliable power supply in the face of unexpected outages. UPS power needs calculations indicate a total power consumption of 2,727 W with a current of 12.39 A at 220 V, requiring a battery capacity of 586.125 Ah with a charging time of approximately 12 hours, as well as an inverter capacity of 3.272W and an ATS of 16 A. Prototype testing using a 150 Watt inverter, a 12V 12 Ah battery, a 6 Amp charger, and a 10A ATS resulted in no computer interruptions during PLN power outages. The evaluation shows that upgraded electrical installations must comply with PUIL standards. This study contributes to enhancing safety and performance in electrical systems in computer laboratories.
