Abstract

Indonesia is in the equatorial region so it has the potential for solar energy which can be utilized for Solar Power Plants (PLTS). From checking solar energy potential using the Global Solar Atlas, Mariuk Village, Cidadap Village, Simpenan District, Sukabumi Regency shows a potential of 3,959 kWh/kWp per day. This potential is considered very sufficient because it is above the average solar energy potential in Indonesia, which is 3,877 kWh/kWp per day, so that the rooftop area of the ice factory can be used to install PLTS. This PLTS uses a hybrid system which will be simulated using PLTS simulation software, namely PVsyst, and the results of the simulation will be used as data for financial analysis. The simulation results show that the PLTS system is capable of producing energy of 30,214 kWh/year with a Performance Ratio (PR) of 80.38% and Solar Fraction (FS) reaching 98.09%. The results of the PLTS financial analysis show that the NPV of this PLTS project is (-Rp. 146,730,562.45), the IRR is 7%, and the payback period is 12 years. So from a financial perspective, this project is not feasible if it is carried out through financing from bank loans. However, it is still feasible if done with the help of grants from the government.
