Abstract

In the world of building construction, the selection of the right structural system is very crucial, one of the structural elements that is often used is the tie beam, which is a beam that aims to strengthen the structure and distribute lateral loads efficiently. This study aims to analyze the comparison between tie beam modeling with continuous foundation and tie beam without continuous foundation in structural strength and cost. The method used in this study is a quantitative method, where data is obtained through direct measurement and statistical analysis. This study involves a simulation of structural modeling using SAP2000v14 software with two modeling, namely Model A is a tie beam without a continuous foundation while Model B is a tie beam with a continuous foundation, the modeling will be analyzed structurally and cost calculations for both types of tie beam modeling. The results show that there is a significant difference in cost and structural strength between tie beam with continuous foundation and tie beam without continuous foundation. The most structurally and cost-efficient structure is a tie beam without a continuous foundation, with dimensions of 250x350 mm and a nominal cost of Rp. 30,084,934.00 while for a tie beam with a continuous foundation of Rp. 40,056,671.00 which is divided into two nominal costs, for a tie beam of Rp. 14,846,910.00 with dimensions of 200x200 mm, while for a continuous foundation of Rp. 25,209,760.00 with dimensions of 700mm width bottom, 350m top width and 700 mm for depth. These findings are expected to provide guidance for engineers and practitioners in choosing the most effective and efficient construction method based on project needs
