Abstract

CV Phonna Raya Machinery is a manufacturing company that produces agricultural machines and tools, including the highly sought-after cassava slicer, which is known for its ability to improve work efficiency. This research aims to analyze the strength of the cassava slicer machine frame using the finite element method with SolidWorks software, as well as to determine the maximum cycle life of the frame due to fatigue. (fatigue). The research methodology includes creating manual designs, converting to 3D designs, and analysis using FEM in SolidWorks. The analysis includes the evaluation of stress, strain, displacement, and safety factor. The simulation results show a maximum stress of 191 MPa, a strain of 0.0004, a maximum displacement of 4.8 mm, and a safety factor of 1.70. Additionally, the fatigue analysis of the cassava slicer frame using SolidWorks with a load of 37,8 kg obtained a fatigue damage value of 4.006 %, a fatigue life of 24.954,7 cycles with a stress amplitude of 191 MPa. The fatigue analysis value of the cassava slicer frame with a load of 20 kg obtained a fatigue damage value of 5.716,31%, a fatigue life of 17.493,8 cycles with a stress amplitude of 213 MPa. This simulation helps in understanding the strength limits of the frame and provides a basis for improving the quality and efficiency of cassava slicer production at CV Phonna Raya Machinery.
