Abstract

Cianjur Regency is one of the most populous regencies in West Java. Therefore, this research proposes the design of a Geographic Information System (GIS) mobile application in an effort to increase the effectiveness of monitoring the distribution of diseases in Cianjur Regency. This research uses a waterfall-based software development methodology that includes the stages of analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. At the analysis stage, the overall system requirements were determined, including determining software and hardware requirements. Data collection was obtained from health centers that use the medisy application in 23 sub-districts. The design stage involves creating data flow diagrams and user interface designs. Implementation was carried out using Android-based mobile development technology by utilizing Kotlin Jetpack Compose and Laravel. This application is equipped with key features such as an attractive appearance, an interactive map that displays the distribution of disease cases along with the education of each disease. Application testing is carried out using functional methods (BlackBox) and Postman testing to ensure each function runs according to predetermined specifications, namely the POST and GET functions as needed in each function. The test results show that this application can facilitate the monitoring of disease distribution quite well. Therefore, the result of this research is an android-based disease distribution application that can help related parties to prevent further disease spread and for the community to find out the phenomenon of diseases that occur in their area along with the education of each disease.
