Abstract

Increasingly tight competition forces banks to actively retain and attract the interest of as many customers as possible. Banks adopt various strategies to compete, either through improving facilities, developing products, or improving the quality of service to customers. The progress of each bank is influenced by its capacity to collect funds from the public, one of which is achieved through offering savings products.
Strategies to gain market share are believed to influence consumers' savings habits in choosing a banking system. There are three influencing characteristics in saving decisions, namely cultural, social, personal and psychological characteristics. Therefore, appropriate support is needed in making decisions to obtain neutral and efficient results based on the desired criteria.
The purpose of this research is to identify and prioritize factors that are taken into consideration in determining customers' decisions to save at Bank bjb KCP Cisaat, Palabuhanratu Branch based on hierarchy using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Primary data was obtained from 6 experts, namely 2 bank bjb employees, 2 Laku Pandai Agents (Bjb BiSA) and 2 academics with criteria determined through interviews and questionnaires. The data is then processed using Expert Choice Software.
The results of research and data processing from 6 experts show that security is the main factor in customers' decisions to save, then the main goal of customers in their savings decisions is transactions, and the alternative in customers' decisions to save is the bank's reputation. Banks that have a good reputation, offer strong security and attractive investment products will be better able to attract and retain customers who want to save.
