Abstract

This research focuses on controlling raw material inventory using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method at UMKM Sapu Ijuk Naga Jaya, a medium-sized business that produces traditional palm fiber brooms. This MSME faces inefficiencies in raw material procurement due to inconsistent ordering and fluctuating market demand. This study aims to identify the optimal inventory management approach to improve production efficiency and minimize costs. Data collection was conducted through observation and interviews with MSME owners, in addition to secondary data analysis regarding raw material usage, procurement costs, and production levels. The EOQ method was used to determine the most cost-effective order quantity, reorder point, and safety stock level. The results showed that the EOQ method can emphasize the total cost of raw material inventory by 21.74%. UMKM Naga Jaya can save Rp14.653.171 with a raw material safety stock of 330kg and a reorder point of 461.5kg. This study concludes that adopting the EOQ approach can help smoother production operations and better financial performance for the Company. This research concludes that adopting the EOQ approach can help smoother production operations and better financial performance for the Company.
