Abstract

The Tenjolaya Girang Megalithic Site (Batu Kujang) is a historical relic from the Megalithic era, where human civilization entered the Great Stone Age, in this era humans were able to make tools and develop culture made from large stones, several cultural objects that Developed at that time included sarcophagi, dolmens, menhirs and terraced punden. The Megalithic Age occurred in 2500-500 BC. These cultural objects can be found at the Tenjolaya Girang Megalithic Site (Batu Kujang) which is located in Tenjolaya Girang Village, Cisaat Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. The remains at this site can be said to be still complete so that the site can be used as an object for historical learning. With real evidence, but its less strategic location, lack of publications and lack of efforts to preserve the history of this site are the main factors why it is not widely known by the public and students, therefore designing documentary film media to preserve the history of this site is considered appropriate. The aim of this design is to convey effective information according to the science of Visual Communication Design. The method used in this research is a qualitative method to produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. The documentary film media used to introduce the Tenjolaya Girang (Batu Kujang) Megalithic Site is media that can provide information about factual events that occurred in the past, designed in an interesting way so that it can influence people's interest in learning history.
