Abstract

Asphalt concrete (laston) which is often found on the road, consists of three types of layers, namely the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC asphalt) layer, the Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course (AC-BC asphalt) layer, and the Asphalt Concrete-Base (AC-Base asphalt) layer. AC-WC asphalt is the outermost asphalt located in the uppermost position that is directly related to external conditions such as environmental weather and vehicle tires so that it becomes the main focus in writing a thesis proposal at this time. However, if we pay attention, in the construction of asphalt concrete roads, especially in the laston Asphalt Concrete- Wearing Course (AC-WC), the aggregates used are not from Sukabumi such as Cimangkok, Jebrod, or Mariuk but aggregates from outside. This is certainly not favorable in terms of cost and even a question mark with Sukabumi's abundant natural resources whether there is no suitable aggregate as a mixture of AC-WC laston. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum asphalt content of Sukabumi aggregates by knowing the property index and the appropriate mixture among Cimangkok, Jebrod, Mariuk and Rumpin Bogor aggregates as a comparison. The research method used is AASHTO analysis, in which there is a marshall test that produces a parameter value of the optimum asphalt content value. After the test, the optimum asphalt content value was obtained from the smallest to the largest, namely 5.94% for Mariuk 5.96% for Cimangkok 5.98% for Jebrod and 5.99% for Rumpin Bogor.
