Abstract
This study aims to develop an efficient and effective warehousing information system for Mega Baja Iron Shops using the LIFO (Last In, First Out) method. The LIFO method is an approach to inventory management in which the last items entered are the first priority to be issued. In this study, an analysis of the needs and warehousing processes at the Mega Baja Iron Shop was carried out. Then, the warehousing information system is designed taking into account the need for inventory management using the LIFO method. The developed information system includes modules for recording incoming and outgoing goods, stock monitoring. The information system development method used is the waterfall method, which consists of the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. During the implementation phase, in system development the PHP programming language is used to connect the user interface with the database. The LIFO method allows for faster sales of goods by prioritizing the last items in, thereby reducing the risk of expired or obsolete goods. In addition, the developed information system also provides accurate and up-to-date information regarding inventory, so that decisions regarding procurement and sales can be made better. The conclusion of this study is that a warehousing information system using the LIFO method can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of inventory management at the Mega Baja Iron Shop. This information system provides benefits in optimizing the expenditure of goods and improving inventory control. It is hoped that the results of this study can become a reference for iron shops or other companies that wish to implement a warehouse information system using the LIFO method.
