Abstract

In recent decades, increasing nitrate levels in rivers have become a major environmental problem. Excessive nitrates can pollute water and harm sensitive aquatic habitats. Consequently, developing efficient and precise analytical methods to assess nitrate levels in water streams is critical. The aim of this research is to develop a graphite resistive sensor for the development of nitrate sensors. Because of its superiority in producing a fast and sensitive electrochemical response to nitrate ions. In this measurement, a graphite electrode is used as the working electrode. First, the graphite electrode is calibrated with a standard nitrate solution of known concentration. A calibration curve was developed to correlate the electrode response. Based on the test results of the graphite resistive sensor, an average error value of 21.45% was obtained, this indicates that the performance of the graphite resistive sensor is relatively accurate with a low error rate. The test results provide data that the resistive sensor can be used to measure nitrate content in water flows with good accuracy. In addition, this method of resistive sensor properties has advantages in terms of ease and speed of measurement. This method can be used as an alternative method for measuring nitrate content in water flows which is cheaper and more efficient..
