Abstract
Dust collector is used to assist in the production machine process. This machine sucks the dust inside the room generated by processes in the industry. This dust collector machine is designed to collaborate with the production machine. Therefore, when the hopper is replaced, the production machine also stops. The issue with this dust collector is the lack of a monitoring and control system that can provide warnings when the hopper is full. The aim of this research is to design a prototype monitoring and control system for the dust collector. Weight factors are used to construct the monitoring and control system using a load cell as a component for dust measurement. The Telegram bot is used as a medium for monitoring dust measurement results, then an ESP32 is used as the microcontroller, and a relay module is used to control the dust collector's operation. The load cell is a passive transducer that converts mechanical displacement into resistance changes. Arduino IDE is used for programming, and Fritzing is used to draw the circuit schematic. The actual weight measurement results will be displayed on an LCD, and every time it reaches the setpoint, the Telegram bot will send a message with the time it reached the setpoint, the frequency of reaching the setpoint, and the accumulation of weight measurements. When the weight reaches the setpoint, the relay will activate and stop the dust collector's operation. Through 11 tests with weight variations from 0.5 to 10 kg, the smallest relative error obtained was 0.30%, and the largest relative error was 5.75%, with an average relative error of 2.85%. This research successfully created a prototype monitoring and control system for a dust collector based on IoT using a load cell with 97.15% accuracy.
