Abstract
The background of this research problem is that there are teachers who are not optimal in their questioning skills. As a result of the teacher not fully understanding the questioning skill component, the learning takes place is still dominated by the teacher which results in students not being active, therefore, the teacher must trigger students with questioning skills so that learning in the classroom is more optimal. The Merdeka Curriculum complements the previous curriculum which gives a new color with the emergence of science subjects, science learning is indeed needed by students nowadays, so that they are always accustomed to balancing activities to protect and protect nature. The aim of the study was to find out how the teacher's ability to apply questioning skills in class IV science lessons at SD Negeri 1 Parakansalak. The method used is a qualitative approach, a descriptive model, a case study method with a purposive sampling technique. The research subjects were class IV teachers A. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is in the form of an interactive Miles & Huberman data model. The research instrument for content validity has been tested for validity. Researchers use triangulation techniques. The results showed that the teacher had implemented basic questioning skills well, including using clear and concise questions, giving references, focusing attention, shifting shifts, distributing turns, giving time to think and giving demands. Advanced questioning skills have been applied including cognitive level demands, question sequences, but for tracking questions a little appears because the teacher adjusts to the material in the book and an increase in interaction also occurs slightly because when the teacher encourages students to ask questions while students are reluctant to ask, which makes mistakes One obstacle to science learning takes place, because students are shy and lack confidence in asking questions or answering questions asked by the teacher. Suggestions for teachers should always carry out self-evaluations so that deficiencies in previous learning can be achieved in subsequent learning.
