Abstract
Behind the beautiful expanse of green tea plantations that we enjoy today, there is a strong historical value. The establishment of the city of Sukabumi cannot be separated from the history of the development of tea plantations belonging to the Dutch and Europeans in the colonial era. At that time, the tea commodity had become a prima donna, well-known to foreign countries, as well as Goalpara tea products which were well-known in Europe. Tea has attracted Europeans to come to Sukabumi to invest. The Dutch East Indies government built a number of irrigation and road transportation facilities to the railroad track from Bogor-Cicurug-Sukabumi. The presence and composition of the European population had a major impact in changing Sukabumi, which was previously just a small hamlet called "Goenoeng Parang" into a Gemeente or municipality. At present, the tea commodity has repeated its success by being well-known abroad, making Indonesia the top ten tea exporting countries, ranked eighth in the world. But despite its success, both during the colonial period and during the independence period, the tea commodity had not yet become the host in its own country. This is evident from the level of domestic tea consumption, where the level of tea consumption per capita is low, which today is due to the lack of knowledge about the types and benefits of tea, which affects people's consumption power of tea. Therefore this research is especially important in order to increase public awareness through information about the tea plant. In this case the researcher wanted to design a documentary video about the tea plant and its health benefits. Through this documentary video, it is hoped that the community, especially in the city of Sukabumi and generally in Indonesia, will know the real benefits of the tea plant for health which is packed with additional knowledge about the types of tea and its processing. The method used by researchers is a deductive and qualitative method obtained from observations, interviews, literature studies and competitor studies. The results of the analysis obtained make an "interesting and persuasive" work with creative idea to increase national per capita tea consumption.
