Abstract

West Java has a lot of cultural diversity, especially in traditional art. Today dozens of traditional Indonesian art have become "lost" due to the rapid flow of globalization, causing people to abandon traditional art, one of which is Wayang Golek Sukabumi traditional art. Wayang Golek Sukabumi was one of the cultural varieties that existed in Sukabumi City for hundreds of years, during the 1950s and 1970s. Wayang Golek serves as a medium of education and illumination. Documentary films can provide effective information to people especially Z-generation in Sukabumi City. Audio visual media is capable of stimulating two senses: vision and auditory sense. This documentary film is designed to inform and introduce Golek Wayang Sukabumi so that people know and preserve Wayang Golek Sukabumi Art Culture so that Wayang Golek continues to grow, not only extinct and can be interested in people, especially generation Z in Sukabumi City. This study used the research design of the mixture method or (mixed method). Mixture method research is a research method that combines qualitative data and quantitative data. Research results suggest that this documentary film can be used as a medium that can benefit people especially Z-generation in Sukabumi City and can be a reference material for the introduction of Wayang cultural preservation.
