Abstract

Violence, harassment and exploitation of women is a bitter phenomenon that does not only affect adult women but also affects underage girls. According to the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) records, as many as 25,050 women were victims of violence in Indonesia in 2022, this is an urgency for more attention and stop. Lack of community empathy makes law enforcement still relatively bad. Often patriarchal culture also makes sense of this act of sexual harassment and instead accuses the victim or victim blaming. At present the role of the mass media in conveying information is considered effective in changing people's mindsets and people's behavior. Analysis of the short film "For the Good Name of the Campus" is one of the short films presented by the Center for Character Strengthening of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. Based on findings in the field regarding sexual violence, this film was directed by Andi T. Which was released on December14th, 2021 with a duration of 32 minutes and 15 seconds. played by Laras Ardia as Sinta and Bimo Satrio as Arie. This study aims to determine the representation of women in the film by using John Fiske's semiotic analysis through The Code of Television theory which includes three levels, namely the level of reality, the level of representation and the level of ideology.
