PERANCANGAN FILM DOKUMENTER “GOLOK CIBATU” SEBAGAI UPAYA MELESTARIKAN BUDAYA

Documentary films are a creative way to present information made for various purposes. The purpose of this research is to design a documentary video that can be a promotional medium and the main media to introduce the Cibatu Golok Heritage and spread public awareness about the importance of Indonesian heritage. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach where the object is studied and analyzed. Furthermore, the production process is carried out and produced in the form of a documentary film. The design of this documentary film produces two important information regarding the history of the Cibatu machete and the uniqueness of the Cibatu machete itself. The results of this study are a 10-minute documentary video that contains history and culture of the Cibatu machete, the process of making the Cibatu machete which is still done traditionally, and the values contained in the Cibatu machete as an Indonesian heritage. This documentary video is designed using an interesting recording technique and is filled with easy-to-understand narratives so that it can attract the attention of a wider audience. This documentary film has advantages over other media because it can build more complex narratives and provide more imaginative image details. This design is expected to create documentary films that can support the achievement of a media promotion that can be accepted by the public
