PERANCANGAN BUKU ILUSTRASI TARI RONGGENG UYEG SEBAGAI UPAYA MELESTARIKAN KESENIAN TARIAN TRADISIONAL KHAS SUKABUMI

Indonesia has 350 traditional dances in each of its provinces, West Java Province, especially the City of Sukabumi, has its own unique traditional dance, namely the Ronggeng Uyeg dance. This dance is a presentation in the theatrical performances of the Uyeg people. The interesting thing about the Ronggeng Uyeg dance is that this dance is a folk dance, the range of dance movements is not changed, developed or combined with modern dance. The phenomenon of globalization that has occurred in Indonesia has led to the influx of foreign culture, which has affected the younger generation and can lead to the extinction of culture in Indonesia. Seeing the influence of globalization which makes some culture’s disappear because they are not preserved, therefore the author makes an illustration book with an effective and interesting digital illustration concept as an educational medium so that readers who read the illustration book gain knowledge, are easy to understand and can imagine. The research method used is qualitative where the data collection techniques are though observation, interview and documentation. The results of this design are implemented into illustrated books as the main media, key chain, large/small tote bag, make-up pouch and poster as supporting media. Illustrated book and poster are stored in the school library of SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi.
