Abstract
This research was motivated by the low scores of students in learning science in
class V. One of the reasons for the lack of student learning outcomes was due to the
use of less effective learning methods. One way that can be used is to use learning
based on the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society) approach. The
approach to this research method is quantitative using a quasi-experimental type
conducted on 2 classes, namely one experimental class and one control class. The
population of this study was the students of SD Negeri Pakuhaji. The samples used
were 47 students in class 5 A as the control class and 50 students in class 5 B as the
experimental class using purposive sampling technique. This study aims to
determine the effect of the use of SETS approach-based learning on student learning
outcomes in science learning in class V Pakuhaji Public Elementary School. It can
be seen from the data analysis that the Asym value is obtained. Sig. (2-tailed) of
0.000 is smaller than 0.05, which means that the probability value is Asym. Sig. (2-
tailed) < 0.05.
