Abstract
Sukabumi is one of the regions in West Java, Indonesia, located in an active fault zone, such as the Cimandiri fault, which makes it highly vulnerable to earthquakes. The 2022 Cianjur earthquake, which also affected the Sukabumi area, caused significant building damage. This indicates that many buildings have not yet been designed according to earthquake-resistant standards. This study aims to evaluate the structural performance level of multi-story building with a Special Momen Resisting Frame (SMRF) system in Sukabumi using a performance-based approach. The analysis was carried out with the aid of the ETABS program, starting with linear structural evaluation based on SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019, followed by nonlinear pushover analysis using the ATC-40 and FEMA 440 methods. Based on the analysis results, the inter-story drifts at the 2nd and 3rd floors exceeded the allowable limits, indicating that the serviceability requirements of SNI 1726:2019 were not fulfilled. The pushover analysis showed that the performance level according to ATC-40 falls into the Damage Control (DO) category fot both X and Y axes, with maximum total drift values of 0,0131 and 0,0124, and maximum total inelastic drift values of 0,0111 and 0,0104. According to FEMA 440, the target displacement was 201,501 mm in the X-axis direction and 190,693 mm in the Y- axis direction, which also indicate a Damage Control (DO) performance level. This means the structure is expected to experience moderate damage that can be repaired without casualties, but requires repair/retrofit to control drift and to meet the structural element capacity requirements in order to achieve a higher performance level.
