Abstract
The Cisurat–Cipasang Road in Sumedang Regency serves as an inter-district connector with relatively high traffic intensity, making it prone to pavement deterioration. This study aims to identify types of pavement distress, evaluate pavement conditions using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Bina Marga methods, and provide maintenance recommendations. The research method was carried out through a visual field survey to record the types, severity levels, and extent of pavement damage, which were then analyzed using PCI and Bina Marga. The analysis results show several types of distress, including longitudinal/transverse cracks, alligator cracking, edge cracking, potholes, raveling, and patching. The average PCI value obtained was 45.80, which falls into the Fair category. The recommended treatments are routine or periodic maintenance for segments with PCI values > 50%, while segments with PCI values
< 50% require rehabilitation or reconstruction, with a new pavement design consisting of a 7.5 cm surface course, a 20 cm base course, and a 27 cm subbase course. This study is expected to serve as a reference in planning more effective and sustainable road maintenance.
