Abstract
This research examines the combination of hydrogen and photovoltaic (PV) systems to improve the performance and reliability of renewable power generation. Through experiments with the Horizon hydrogen device, the performance of each system and their combination was analyzed. As a result, the PV produced an average voltage of 2.073 V and the fuel cell 1.296 V. Combined, they produced an average total voltage of 3.369 V, surpassing the performance of each system. This integration also increases sustainable electricity supply and reduces dependence on fossil energy. Simulations of PV performance showed the voltage varied between
2.069 V to 2.077 V at certain time intervals, with different hydrogen and oxygen production. The fuel cell simulation shows a voltage between 0.953 V to 1.308 V, as the hydrogen and oxygen gas consumption changes. Simulation of the integration of the two resulted in a total voltage between 3.030 V to 3.377 V, depending on the time of day and operating conditions. It is concluded that combining PV and fuel cell is effective in improving the efficiency and reliability of clean power generation.
