Abstract

Competition in the digital era is a significant challenge for traditional shops, especially in neighborhoods, which do not yet have access and understanding of digital technology to compete in the online market. This research aims to design the User Interface of the seller’s website using the Design Thinking approach through five stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test, with data collection through interviews, observations, and literature studies, to make it easier to use by small-scale businesses. Prototype UI was developed in the form of low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes, then the usability testing was based on the Heuristic Evaluation method by three internal evaluators. The test result showed that 60% of the usability principles did not experience any problem (severity 0), while the other 40% only experienced cosmetic issues (severity 0,33-1,00). The total average score of all evaluation principles is 0,23, which indicate a very good level of usability and does not require major improvements. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of Design Thinking has successfully produced a user-friendly UI that suits the needs of sellers at the RT/RW level in the face of digital transformation.
