Abstract
Mine reclamation is a legal obligation that must be fulfilled by every mining corporation as a form of responsibility toward environmental protection. This research aims to analyze the legal responsibility of corporations based on Indonesian legislation and evaluate its application through a case study of District Court Decision No. 15/Pdt.G/Lh/2023/PN Lht. Using a normative juridical approach and qualitative analysis, the study finds that while laws clearly mandate reclamation through principles such as strict liability, the polluter pays principle, and the precautionary principle, field implementation remains weak. The Lahat Court’s decision confirms that corporations can be held legally accountable; however, the absence of progressive sanctions and firm deadlines undermines its enforcement. This study highlights the crucial role of the judiciary, governmental oversight, and public participation in ensuring the effective and ecologically just implementation of corporate environmental responsibilities.
