ANALISIS PENGENDALIAN KUALITAS PADA PRODUK REJECT HANDLING DI WAREHOUSE MENGGUNAKAN METODE SIX SIGMA (STUDI KASUS PT XYZ)

The problem of high rate of rejected products in the inbound and outbound processes in the warehouse of PT XYZ, a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company that produces bottled beverages, leads to wasteful costs and decreased operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze product quality control by applying the Six Sigma method through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach, to identify the main causes of rejects and design effective improvement strategies. The research design used an applied descriptive method with a mixed methods approach through direct observation, interviews with warehouse supervisors, and documentation of rejected product data in 2024. Data analysis was conducted using statistical techniques such as P-chart, DPMO and sigma level calculations, as well as qualitative tools such as Pareto and fishbone diagrams. The results showed that the dominant reject types were dent and scratch, which accounted for more than 85% of the total defects. The DPMO value was recorded at 107.45 with a sigma level of 5,2, indicating good process quality but still needs improvement. This study concludes that the Six Sigma method is effective in identifying, measuring, and controlling the causes of rejected products in the warehouse, and makes an important contribution to strengthening the quality management system in the logistics sector. The practical implications lie in strengthening process control, while theoretically expanding the study of Six Sigma implementation in the warehouse area, which was previously less discussed.
