Abstract
The heavy equipment industry plays an important role in supporting the construction, mining, and agricultural sectors. Equipment such as crawlers, which are designed to operate in difficult terrain, require strong and safe components for operators. The cabin of heavy equipment is a key component that must be designed for comfort, safety, and operational efficiency. This study aims to design and analyze the cabin of CANYCOM S25A heavy equipment at Delima Jaya Company, with a focus on improving operator safety and comfort according to international standards. After analyzing the CANYCOM S25A cabin frame that failed when receiving a load of 1 ton, it was found that the damage occurred at the welded joints in the frame. The stress at this point reached 1,699 MPa, exceeding the elastic limit of SS400 material of 235 MPa, which caused plastic deformation or permanent shape change. In the dynamic analysis simulation of the impact of 25 kg of palm fruit, the diagram shows the variation of Von Mises stress at several nodes. Node 1 (orange line) recorded the highest stress, reaching a peak of 653.395 MPa in the first 1-3 seconds, indicating that this area was highly affected by the impact. The blue (X) and light blue (Y4) lines show fluctuating stresses between 100-300 MPa, while Nodes Y2 (gray) and Y3 (yellow) have low stresses below 50 MPa, indicating areas that are less impacted by the impact. These stress fluctuations continue until the end of the simulation (around 8 seconds), reflecting the dynamic impact of the impact on the cabin structure.
