Abstract

Indonesia ranks first as the most generous country in the world according to the World Giving Index 2024. However, online donation fundraising systems face significant challenges related to transparency and public trust, which potentially weaken the philanthropic spirit of society. The lack of transparency in donation fund management creates opportunities for fraud and fund misuse, thereby reducing donor trust in online donation platforms. The objective of this research is to develop a TON blockchain-based online donation fundraising system that can enhance transparency in donation fund management and build public trust through decentralized technology.
This research employs qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through literature study, interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The system development method uses prototyping with Vue.js technology for frontend, Express.js for backend, PostgreSQL as database, and smart contracts developed using the Tact programming language on the TON blockchain network. The smart contract is designed with five main functions: create campaign, delete campaign, receive donation, withdraw campaign, and transfer balance.
Test results show that the system successfully meets all functional requirements with a functional suitability value reaching 100% and a usability level of 94% based on assessments from 36 respondents. Unit testing of the smart contract shows that all 14 test scenarios succeeded with PASS status. The system successfully implements transparency mechanisms through immutable transaction recording on the blockchain, public access to donation history and fund withdrawal records, and automatic business rule implementation through smart contracts.
The conclusion of this research is that the TON blockchain-based online donation fundraising system proves effective in enhancing transparency in donation fund management, enabling public verification of all transactions, and increasing donor trust through blockchain technology that cannot be manipulated.
