ANALISIS PERAN PRAKTIK BANK EMOK TERHADAP KINERJA USAHA USAHA MIKRO DI SUKABUMI (STUDI KASUS USAHA USAHA MIKRO KAMPUNG PANYINDANGAN DESA PAWENANG, KECAMATAN NAGRAK)

This study aims to analyze the role of Bank Emok practices on the performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Panyindangan Village, Pawenang Village, Nagrak Sub-district, Sukabumi District. Bank Emok is a form of informal financing that is in great demand by the community because the lending process is easy, fast, unsecured, and carried out in groups. The research approach used was qualitative with phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation from MSME actors, RT heads, and village parties. The results showed that Bank Emok has an important role in providing access to capital for MSME actors who are not reached by formal financial institutions. Bank Emok loans are used to increase business capital such as the purchase of raw materials, production equipment, and business expansion. Despite an increase in turnover and business growth, most MSME actors experience pressure due to high interest charges, joint liability systems, and intensive collections that trigger social conflict and psychological pressure. This study concludes that the practice of Bank Emok has a double impact: on the one hand, it encourages access to capital and business growth, on the other hand, it poses economic and social risks if not accompanied by financial education and supervision. Therefore, intervention from the government and related institutions is needed to provide protection and fairer financing alternatives for MSMEs.
