PERANCANGAN FILM DOKUMENTER “JEJAK API” SEBAGAI ARSIP VISUAL PEMBUAT TUNGKU TRADISIONAL DI KAMPUNG CIBANGKONG

This study aims to design a documentary film titled “Jejak Api” (Traces of Fire) as a visual archive documenting the traditional stove-making process in Kampung Cibangkong, Tanjungsari Village, Sukabumi Regency. This ancestral tradition, passed down through generations, is increasingly threatened by modernization and shifts in lifestyle.
Yet, traditional stoves are not merely cooking tools—they represent a rich cultural heritage imbued witch social, ecological, and philosophical values. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research gathers data through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, literature review, and visual documentation.
The findings are presented in an expository documentary format that authentically captures the crafting techniques, the lives of the artisans, and the cultural meanings behind the practice. The resulting film is expected to serve not only as a cultural preservation medium but also as an educational and inspirational tool for younger generations to appreciate and uphold local wisdom.
