Abstract
The problem of waste accumulation in densely populated areas has become an environmental issue. One alternative method of waste management is by burning it using a micro-scale incinerator. This study aims to analyze the heat and fluid flow characteristics in the incinerator using Ansys Software to determine the temperature distribution, flow turbulence patterns, and evaluate the suitability of the results to the provisions of SNI 8423:2017 and Reynolds number. The simulation results show that the maximum temperature of the combustion chamber reaches 601℃ which is still below the standard perfect combustion temperature of 800-1200℃ according to SNI 8423:2017. Flow analysis shows the formation of a recirculation zone and maximum turbulent flow in the chamber with a Reynolds Number reaching 5082395. Based on the simulation results, the combustion process in the incinerator combustion chamber does not meet the standards and still needs to be improved both from the combustion system and insulator material for more optimal development in accordance with national standards.
