URGENSI AFIRMASI REGULASI PERLINDUNGAN DAN KETERLIBATAN PEREMPUAN DALAM LINGKUNGAN HIDUP GUNA MENDUKUNG PEMBANGUNAN BERKELANJUTAN

The urgency of regulatory affirmation on the protection and involvement of women in the environment is an important part of realizing sustainable development with gender equity. The focus of the study is directed at two main problems, namely how does regulatory affirmation on environmental protection and management provide legal certainty for women in gender equality? And how is the implementation of the principle of gender equality for women in environmental protection and management in Indonesia? The approach used is normative juridical by examining provisions in national and international regulations, especially Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management which regulates the right to a healthy environment and broad community participation, and Law Number 7 of 1984 concerning Ratification of the CEDAW Convention which emphasizes the elimination of discrimination against women, including in access to natural resources and participation in decision-making. The results of the analysis show that although there is normative recognition of women's rights and roles, implementation in the field still faces structural challenges, such as minimal access to information, limited space for participation, and cultural barriers. Regulatory affirmation is needed that is more applicable, gender responsive, and integrated in all aspects of environmental policy. These findings are expected to be the basis for developing inclusive environmental law that is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goal 5 on gender equality.
