Abstract
Course scheduling is one of the important aspects in academic management at Nusa Putra University. However, the scheduling process which is still done manually using Microsoft Excel often experiences various obstacles, such as clashes between course schedules and less than optimal room allocation. This causes the scheduling process to be less efficient and disrupts the smooth running of lecture activities. This study aims to develop a web-based course scheduling system using the Kanban method. The Kanban method was chosen because it has the advantages of simplicity, high curiosity, and the ability to visualize workflows in real-time. This system is designed using HTML and Bootstrap as the frontend, and the backend using the Laravel framework integrated with the MySQL database. The results of the study based on the Likert Scale showed that the average value of 30 respondents gave an assessment of 3.7 (neutral) for the ease of understanding the interface system, 3.6 (neutral) for the effectiveness of the system in reducing schedule conflicts, and 3.7 (neutral) for the ease of understanding and making schedules. In addition, the system scored 4.0 (good) in reducing manual work compared to the previous method and overall user satisfaction was also at 4.0 (good). Testing conducted using the black box testing method proved that this system functions according to the designed scenario. The implementation of this system has a positive impact in increasing the efficiency and accuracy of scheduling, thus providing benefits for lecturers, students, and administrative staff.
