Abstract
Sukabumi Regency is one of the rapidly developing regions in West Java Province. As an area with increasing economic growth, the need for a transportation system to support the mobility of its population and the distribution of goods and services has also risen. One of the main roads playing a vital role in inter-regional connectivity in Sukabumi Regency is the Siliwangi Cicurug-Benda Road section STA 30+000 – STA 31+000. This road section often experiences traffic congestion, especially when there are operational disruptions to major transportation infrastructure, such as the Bocimi Toll Road Section 2. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Siliwangi Cicurug-Benda Road section STA 30+000 – STA 31+000 using the PKJI 2023 method, both before and after the Bocimi Toll Road Section 2 became operational. This method was chosen as it is the latest guideline for road planning and performance analysis in Indonesia. Therefore, analysis with the PKJI 2023 method is crucial to understanding the impact of toll road operations on traffic flow on existing arterial roads, as well as identifying potential problems and future solutions. The analysis results indicate that the operation of Bocimi Toll Road Section 2 successfully reduced vehicle volume on the Siliwangi Cicurug-Benda Road, leading to a decrease in the degree of saturation (DS) from 0.85 to 0.70, signifying improved traffic performance. However, future traffic growth projections suggest that the DS will exceed the 0.85 limit again starting in 2029, reaching 1.11 by 2035. As a solution, road widening is proposed to increase road capacity, which could reduce the DS to 0.59 and keep it below the PKJI 2023 recommended limit. Nevertheless, by 2035, the DS is predicted to rise above 0.85 again, indicating that the road's capacity will approach its maximum, thus requiring additional strategies to ensure smooth traffic flow in the future.
