Abstract
The repair process on a valve is something that needs to be considered in the world of oil and gas. The lack of supervision of Quality Control (QC) personnel during the repair process can be the main cause of re-work conditions because it can result in re-work conditions occurring repeatedly caused by scratches on the disc and nozzle valve, mistaken tagging, and leakage from the pipe line because the discharge rate is made one. This study aims to determine the factors that cause re- work on Safety Valve that has been repaired and to determine the extent to which the Six Sigma method can affect the quality of Safety Valve service with conventional type. Thus, the application of the Six Sigma method to valve service quality is needed in order to minimize the occurrence of re-work conditions in repair work, which starts with define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. So as to get a comparison of the results before and after the application of the six sigma method, where the number of valves experiencing re-work conditions is 14 pcs PSV, with a defect rate of 0.45161, a chance of a defect rate of 0.1505376, a DPMO value of 150537.6 and a sigma value of 2.54. After the application of the six sigma method, a work instruction is formed that refers to QHSE-SOP-SVG-01, which can reduce the number of re-work conditions to the point of zero defects. With this six sigma method can eliminate rework conditions from the previous hin Key Word: Safety valve, Repair, six sigma
