Abstract

Road infrastructure plays an important role in supporting the distribution of goods and services to drive regional economic growth. However, road damage, such as on the Pangleseran-Cibatu Road section, causes traffic congestion, disrupts economic activities, and increases the risk of accidents, which have a negative impact on the community and local economy. This study aims to evaluate the pavement condition of Pangleseran Road Sta 0+000 – 3+000 in Sukabumi Regency using the PCI and Bina Marga methods, and to identify the causes of the damage that occurs. This study also provides recommendations for solutions for road repair and maintenance. The PCI method provides an assessment of road damage with a rating between 0 and 100, where a higher value indicates a better condition. Meanwhile, the Bina Marga method assesses roads based on the priority of handling, with a value range of 0 to 7 which describes the level of damage and the urgency of repair. The results of the study on Pangleseran-Cibatu Road Sta 0+000 showed that the road condition showed severe damage with a PCI value of 26.9 and an average BM value of 5.8 although some of the roads were still in good condition. The main damage is caused by overloading of fuso trucks with loads of more than 8 tons that pass repeatedly. This study recommends two repair programs, namely periodic maintenance and improvement, with five handling methods: patching, scrapping filling, grouting, overlay, and reconstruction. Reconstruction is the main priority because severe damage to the road section requires urgent handling.
